Our Members
All Work Experience UK member centres are accredited against British Council rigorous quality standards, and they are full members of English UK, the world’s leading language teaching association. In addition, each member has committed themselves to the Work Experience UK Charter which reflect the high professional standards, including:
- Each Centre provides Work Experience Programmes as a core part of their English Language Training, and is accredited by the British Council through a scheme of regular inspection.
- Each Centre uses premises appropriate for adult clients who are following courses in English or other Training for professional purposes and which meet all health and safety standards and are DDA compliant.
- Each Centre offers work experience programmes to students from visa countries. The programmes must meet all the legitimate criteria required by UKBA.
- Each Centre provides and uses materials appropriate for the teaching of English and Work Experience.
Attending a course at one of our member institutions is your best guarantee of a quality experience.

Management
Work Experience UK is run by a committee which is elected by member schools every year. The committee makes the important and relevant day-to-day decisions about the key issues within the association and the industry.
There are currently 3 seats on the committee including a Chair (although this is likely to expand as the association continues to expand).
General Meetings of the members of Work Experience UK are held annually, usually in the autumn. All members are encouraged to participate in the association's activities as fully as possible.

Edexcel Partnership
WEUK has been working closely with Edexcel developing the Workskills qualification at Level 3 on the NQF. The new qualification, Workskills Plus, has gained full QCA accreditation in July 2009 and is officially on the NQF at level 3.
Workskills is a new, flexible suite of BTEC qualifications suitable for learners of all ages and at all stages of their working lives. This qualification is particularly relevant to work experience programme providers, not only because it enables schools provide more structured work experience programmes and prepare students with practical skills, but also satisfies the current visa requirement for work experience programmes in the UK. For further information, please see www.edexcel.com
WEUK has reached an agreement with Edexcel on various collaboration initiatives including co-branding, joint promotions and training services. WEUK members will be offered the first opportunity to many of the benefits of this collaboration.
